Sometimes I

look at my dogs and think about how much native dignity they possess, in the beauty of their form, and their ability to run and leap and revel in their senses.

And then they do something like this, and I wonder where all that dignity goes, or how such a dual nature can exist within a single creature, or species:


I suspect it’s in that contradiction; in their determination to play the fool while in possession of such beauty and grace, that so completely wrenches my heart and earns my love.
