I just don’t get it.

Maybe I’m too young (hah!), or maybe I have the wrong esthetic, but like so many other things that everyone else loves (turkey stuffing, beer, soda pop), I really don’t like Bob Dylan.

The speak-singing, the random nonsensical lyrics, the uninteresting background music (excepting the Band, of course, who did their best) — why does everyone ooh and ahh in awe? Maybe it’s that he was a perfect product of the zeitgeist of his time. I don’t know.

I do know that I change the station, or even turn off the sound, when I hear his nasal warbling.

C’est la vie, Bob Dylan.
